Yet another fatal road accident claimed life of a man in a series of mishaps being reported in city without fail. The middle aged man died when the scooter he was riding was hit by another scooter on Wednesday night. The accused scooter rider could not be arrested as he apparently fled the spot after the accident.
The victim, Mobinur Rehman Habibur Rehman (56), resident of Anant Nagar, was returning home around 7.45 pm on Wednesday on his Bajaj Chetak scooter (MH-31/Y 8565) from Wadi area. When Mobinur Rehman reached near Ayyappa Temple in Gittikhadan area, an Activa (MH-31/DW 0520), driven carelessly by an unidentified person, hit his scooter with forceful impact. The impact resulted in Mobinur Rehman losing balance and falling on the road. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Mayo Hospital by passersby. However, Mobinur succumbed to his injuries around 11.25 pm while undergoing treatment.
Gittikhadan PSI Kedare, based on information, has registered an offence against the unidentified Activa rider under Sections 279, 304(A) of IPC and searching for him.
