“MIA & Central Excise jointly organised Workshop on GST”

MIDC Industries Association & Department of Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax, Govt. of India had Jointly organised Full Day Workshop on GST on 6th MAR 2017 at MIA House, MIDC, Hingna, Nagpur. Expert Faculty for the workshop was the Additional Commissioner of Central Excise, Pune, Surendrakumar Mankoskar & Superintendent of Central Excise, Pune, Kiron Deshpande. Other officers present from Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax were Anil Sasidharan,Ganesh Pote, Kamal Puggal & A. Y. Kanojia, All Assistant Commissioners who also spoke on the subject.

The workshop was held under the supervision of Secretary – MIA C. G. Shegaonkar. The workshop was attended by more than 300 entrepreneurs of MIDC, Hingna. Surendrakumar Mankoskar briefed all the members regarding the Migration of Vat, Excise & Service Tax to GST & launch of GST, SGST, IGST w.e.f. 1st July 2017. He explained for more than 4 hours about minute details on, what, how & when the GST will come into operation. He also elaborated on responsibilities of Central & State Government. As decided by council, upto Rs. 20 lacs clearances no GST will be applicable, between Rs. 20.00 lacs – Rs.50.00 Lacs Turnover, Composite scheme will be applicable to assesses, where GST to be paid @2.5% for manufacturers and @ 1% for Traders. Between 50 lacs to 1.5 cr. Clearance, 90% assesses will be registered with state & balance 10% with central whereas beyond 1.5Cr. the registration ratio will be 50:50. Other speaker Kiron Deshpande deliberated on registration, procedure, return filling & refunds at length , on all forms of GST. He also informed that those who do not obtain provisional GST registration will automatically be migrated to GST either from VAT or Central Excise & Service Tax portal.
