Mental Hospital clerk booked for fraud

Nagpur: A clerk of Regional Mental Hospital has been booked on the charges of defrauding State Government of thousands of rupees.

A resident of Plot No. 98, Chandanshesh Nagar, the accused has been identified as Rajkumar Pundlik Thomle (57). Rajkumar is working as a clerk in OPD of Regional Mental Hospital. He was looking after registration of patients. Since 26.12.2014 till 10.10.2017, the accused started recovering Rs 80 from patients as registration charges instead Rs 40 as fixed by the State Government. However, the accused would change the amount as Rs 40 in the carbon copy of the receipt book in a fraudulent means. Moreover, the accused noted down the same receipt for registration of two patients. The accused Rajkumar also showed non-BPL patients as BPL ones and thus defrauded the State Government to the tune of Rs 29,476. But the fraud committed by the accused Rajkumar Thomle came to the fore. Subsequently, the in-charge of the Regional Mental Hospital, Dr Pravin Nilkanth Navghare (39) lodged a complaint against the accused with Mankapur police.

ASI Ejaz Sheikh has booked the accused Rajkumar Thomle under Sections 420, 409 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
