Students from Department of Mechanical Engineering, J D College of Engineering & Management recently conducted a Mega Cycle Rally in Nagpur, under their NSS activities. Moto of this Mega Cycle Rally was to create social awareness amongst the society in which students displayed placards with respect to Use Cycles Go Green, Avoid Rash Driving Save Life, Follow the Traffic Rules, Save Environment, Save Water, Save Girl Child Avoid Female Foeticide, etc & won the hearts of Nagpurians.
Near about 150 students from Dept. of Mech. Engg. participated in the Cycle Rally. Ajay Goyal, Secretary, Jaidev Education Society was the president of the mega event. During his presidential speech, he emphasized that everybody should be committed towards the protection of the environment & urged the gathering for increasing the use of Bicycle in their daily routine. Bharat Tangde, DCP, Nagpur Traffic Police was the Chief Guest for the inauguration function & Narendra Hiware, PI, Nagpur Traffic Police, Dr. Sunita Kshirsagar Dhote, Asian record holder for the Longest Expedition on Bicycle, A. P. Dorsatwar, Director, JES, were the Guests of Honour for the Mega Event. Cycle Rally started from Santra Market & moved towards Variety Square, Shankar Nagar, Maharaj Bag, RBI Square & after travelling near about 15 kilometer distance concluded at office of Jaidev Education Society near Santra Market.
Prof. A. R. Sayed & the student volunteers took great efforts for making this event grand successful. Students were thankful to all their teachers & Prof. Piyush S. Pande, HOD, Mechanical Engineering for their active support.
