“Meet the Scientist” event in city on Sept 8

Nagpur: An event called “Meet The Scientist” is being organized by Prof Rajendra Singh Science Exploratory, Nagpur in association with Vigyan Bharati Vidarbha Pradesh Medal in city. The event is for the students of class VIII, IX and X. More than 1000 students from 75 schools of Nagpur are will be attending the programme. The event will start at 12.00 noon on September 8 and will end at 2.00 pm.

The second session will start from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm for teachers, lecturers teaching mathematics from VIII standard to PG level. The venue of the programme is TBRAN’s Mundle Platinum Jubilee Hall.

Prof Rajendra Singh Science Exploratory has invited Prof Dr M S Raghunanthan, the mathematician of international repute. He is currently the Head of National Centre for Advanced Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

Prof. M. S. Raghunanthan is a fellow of the Royal Society ,Third World Academy of Sciences (1991),American Mathematical Society and recipient of Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Award(1977), Srinivas Ramanujan Medal (1991), Prof. S.N. Bose professorship (1993-96), Padmashri (2001) and Padma Bhushan (2012).

The purpose of this event is to create awareness among the students and society about learning of mathematics and to motivate students and teachers to learn the subject.
