MCOCA accused, lodged in city jail, dies of illness

Yet another under-trial prisoner lodged in Nagpur Central Jail died, reportedly due to illness, on Friday (July 29). The deceased, Dinesh Panachand Nagdive (45), resident of Indora Square, Tidke Town, was booked under MCOCA provisions and was lodged in the prison since 30.5.2016.

Notably, the deceased Dinesh Nagdive was facing many offences and allegedly part of a blackmailers’ gang trapping innocent youths in their nefarious designs and extorting huge money from them. He was booked under the stringent MCOCA along with other members of the gang recently and was lodged in the city jail since May 30, 2016.

On 13.7.2016, Dinesh suddenly took ill, and on the advice of Chief Medical Officer of the jail hospital, he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for further treatment. However, Dinesh Nagdive succumbed to his illness around 12.50 pm on Friday (July 29).

Dhantoli PSI Munde, on the basis of information provided by prison guard Vishal Gajanan Rathod (26) on behalf of Jail Superintendent, has registered a case and investigating the matter further.
