    MBBS students indulge in sports fervour at Annual inter-college sports meet of GMC Synergie -2013

    Nagpur News:

    MBBS students and soon to be doctors of around 12 medical colleges of Vidarbha are participating in the Annual sports and cultural event ‘Synergie Synapse’ -2013 at Government Medical College(GMC) Sports facility, Nagpur. The event is organized by the Games and sports association,GMC, and students council of medical colleges.  The Sports events are spread in three days from 25th  to 28th Feb. And the Culture events will begin from 1st of march to 5th march.

    Along with education, games play a pivotal role in life. Acknowledging this importance These medical students with their doctor teachers showed a unique display of stamina, competitive spirit and precision as participants and strove to prove their best in various sports events which included cricket, volleyball, basketball, Badminton, Table tennis and swimming.

    In womens crickect GMC,Nagpurwon the finals. On day 2 Tuesday IGMC defeated GMC in first round of Basketball event. In Badminton GMC shuttlers isha and ketki bagged the womens doubles finals event defeating IGMC’s Pallavi and shillika.

    In Table tennis INMS defeated GMC in mixed doubles finals. Kaustubh Somalwar of GMC won the men’s singles.

    Swimming Competition will be held on Wednesday. Volley ball, basketball and football finals will be held on 27th Feb. Cricket men’s Final will be held on 28th Feb.

    While talking to ‘NagpurToday’ Yuvraj Lahre,General Secretary, students council informed, “The cultural event ‘Synapse’ will be starting from 1st  to 5th march. Programmes such as Personality contest-Elance, Teacher’s night, photography contest, health camp, mud mania, sakamma-drama, art in motion, Debate and Dance competition are scheduled in these 5 days.”
