Mayor Jichkar invited to attend ‘Healthy Cities Forum’ in Chandigarh on Nov 3

Nagpur: The Mayor Nanda Jichkar has been invited to attend the ‘Healthy Cities Forum’ scheduled to be held on November 3, 2017 in the first World Non Communicable Diseases Congress, Chandigarh.

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh and World Non Communicable Diseases (NCD) Federation, a professional association working for Global Non-Communicable Diseases Agenda is organizing the first World NCD Congress at Chandigarh with the theme “Preventing NCDs: Realizing Sustainable Development goals.” This is first of its kind of World Congress which will focus on the Prevention, Control and Management of NCDs namely Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases, Chronic Respiratory Diseases and Cancer and is likely to be attended by 1200-1500 delegates.

The Mayor Nanda Jichkar has been invited by Prof. J S Thakur, Professor, School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh, who is also President of World NCD Federation and Chairman of Organizing Committee — World NCD Congress. The ‘Healthy Cities Forum’ will be held on November 3, 2017 at UT Guest House Sec-6, Chandigarh from 10 am. The WHO and its collaborating centers, the Union Health Minister, Govt. of India, Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research, Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases, International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, NCI and partners, CDC, York University, Maastricht University, Simon Fraser University, University of Michigan and several global associations are participating in the World NCD Congress.
