Nagpur: In a disturbing development, the employees of M/s Cybertech Systems and Software Company Ltd, appointed by NMC to survey properties in city, have been found indulging in criminal activities. The company employees have been accused of making recoveries illegally from the property holders. And those opposing the high-handed, illegal acts of the company employees are being threatened and thrashed as well.

A retired Assistant Tax Inspector of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Vijay Rajaram Rewatkar, himself faced the “heat” of the ‘rowdy’ employees of M/s Cybertech Systems and Software Company Ltd. During a survey being conducted by the company employees on Monday, the former NMC babu was attacked for opposing their illegal acts. Taken aback by the assault, Rewatkar, a resident of Pande Layout, has lodged a complaint with Municipal Commissioner Ashwin Mudgal as well as Pratapnagar police in this connection. But still no action has been initiated against the wayward employees of M/s Cybertech Systems and Software Company Ltd.

The employees of the M/s Cybertech Systems and Software Company Ltd have also been found working in haphazard manner. They are showing multiple units of a single house. This anomaly is likely to cause loss of Rs 2/2.50 crore to NMC. The abnormality in units is likely to create a major difference between the number of properties and demand notices. This will ultimately lead to difficulties in recovery of property tax and put the tax department in a fix.
