Mayor Datke reviews NMC’s housing complex schemes being implemented under BSUP, SRA

Mayor Pravin Datke on Monday reviewed the ongoing works of housing complex schemes being implemented by Nagpur Municipal Corporation under BSUP & SRA (Basic Services to Urban Poor & Slum Rehabilitation Authority) projects in various areas. The Mayor reviewed the projects at a meeting of Slum Eradication and Housing Committee office-bearers held in Standing Committee hall on Monday and sought information regarding the projects being implemented in Pandharabodi, Zingabai Takli, Vanjara, Indiramata Nagar, Jattarodi, Nari and other slum areas of Nagpur.

Elaborating on the projects, the Executive Engineer (SRA) S Ambedkar said that a total of 6246 houses have been sanctioned under SRA out of which 1515 houses have been completed. Construction of 1245 houses is undergoing while work for remaining 3771 houses will be started soon.

The Mayor directed the official to provide him the list of approved schemes and at the same time asked the concerned officials to carry out surveys for implementation of new housing complex schemes in newer areas and prepare a proposal for submitting to the Government. Similarly, the work of remaining 3771 houses in the old schemes be started immediately. The quality of houses, to be provided to poor people, should be of high standard and with all facilities, directed the Mayor and added that he will soon be visiting the sites of BSUP and SRA projects in various areas.

Others who attended the meeting include Deputy Mayor Munna Pokulwar, Standing Committee Chairman Narendra Borkar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Hemant Pawar, Slum Eradication and Housing Committee Chairman Jagdish Gvalvanshi  and others.
