Mayor begins public contact, visits Mangalwari Zone and assures to resolve problems

Nagpur: The Mayor Nanda Jichkar on Tuesday started her public contact drive by visiting Prabhag 10 and 11 in Mangalwari Zone and assured the residents of resolving their maximum problems.

The Mayor has undertaken “Mahapour Aplya Dari” (Mayor at Your Doorsteps) programme for knowing zone-wise problems and issues being faced by residents. The visit to Prabhag 10 and 11 in Mangalwari Zone was part of this programme. Jichkar inspected the localities and interacted with residents.

Those accompanying the Mayor include Chairman of Tax and Tax Assessment Sandeep Jadhav, Chairman of Medical Services and Health Committee Manoj Chaple, Chairman of Water Works Department Pintoo Jhalke, NIT Trustee Bhushan Shingne, Mangalwari Zone Chairperson Sangita Girhe, Senior Corporators Sunil Agrawal, Archana Pathak, Deepak Girhe, Naresh Barde, Assitional Municipal Commissioner Ram Joshi, Assistant Commissioner Vijay Humne, Executive Engineer Girish Wasnik, Executive Engineer (water Works) Manoj Ganvir, Health Officer Dr Sunil Kamble and other concerned officials.

It may be recalled the Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule will hold ‘Janata Darbars’ from December 3 to February 11 on every Monday. The Mayor will be mobilising citizens to resolve their problems in ‘Janata Darbar’.

On Tuesday, the Mayor visited Zingabai Takli, Girhe Layout, Kale and Raut Layout, Alankar Society, Gorewada, Mankapur and listened to the problems of residents and assured to resolve them. The Zingabai Takli residents complained that garbage collection centres were very less in the area. The Mayor told them to suggest one place for garbage collection. She informed ten centres will be set in ten zones for waste collection. Jichkar also warned the residents who dump waste in nallahs in the areas. She directed the authorities to clean the nallahs and ensure free flow of water.

Some residents complained of water shortage as well as accumulation filth and garbage at many places. The Mayor assured to look into the matter and asked the officials to initiate action on this front.

The Mayor will visit Prabhag 1 and 9 on Wednesday.
