Nagpur: A shocking family tragedy unfolded in the Manakapaur police limits on Thursday afternoon. Property agent Ramprasad Tiwari, 53, allegedly attacked his 18-year-old daughter with a knife and a wooden stick before consuming poison in an apparent suicide attempt.
The incident occurred around 2 PM on November 20. Tiwari, who was rushed to Mayo Hospital in critical condition, died during treatment. His daughter, severely injured in the attack, remains hospitalized. Doctors report her condition as stable for now.
Initial inquiries suggest a long-standing suspicion or dispute between the father and daughter, which escalated into a heated argument on Thursday. In a fit of rage, Tiwari carried out the assault and then ingested poison.
