In an audacious attempt to defraud a nationalized bank, a man prepared a bogus Demand Draft (DD) of staggering Rs 1.65 crore and deposited it as well for encashment. But his attempt went futile as the bank suspected genuineness of the DD and stopped payment. The accused has so far been not arrested.

The accused Prabhakar Ramchandra Bode, resident of Plot No. 3, Ladikar Layout, Nagpur, prepared the bogus Demand Draft of Rs 1.65 crore in an attempt to dupe Punjab National Bank, Delhi Branch. Prabhakar pretended the DD as genuine and deposited it in the bank for encashment. But the dubious plan of accused Prabhakar went haywire as the bank suspected authenticity of the DD. Subsequently, the Branch Manager Ashish Ranjan Ram Naresh Prasad filed a complaint with Hudkeshwar Police Station in this regard.

Hudkeshwar Senior PSI Konkne, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Prabhakar Bode under Sections 467, 468, 471 under the IPC and investigating the matter further. No arrest has been made in the case.
