Man Stabbed to Death by Goons After Road Rage Incident in Mhada Colony

Nagpur: A 32-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death by a group of assailants following a road rage incident in Mhada Colony under the jurisdiction of Kapil Nagar police station on Saturday night. Police have detained three persons, including a minor, in connection with the murder.

The deceased, Rajesh Orekar, a resident of Nari Vasti near Ganesh Mandir, was returning from a picnic at Mansar along with his friend Pintu Rajput (32). After dropping two companions near Taxila Ghat, the duo was driving home when their car accidentally hit a parked e-rickshaw near a water tank opposite Building No. 10 around 9.30 pm.

An argument broke out when the e-rickshaw owner confronted them. Moments later, a gang of eight men — identified as Harshal, Tabba, Lucky, Rabha, and four others — appeared at the spot and attacked the two friends.

During the scuffle, Orekar allegedly overpowered and thrashed Harshal Kuthe, which infuriated the gang. The attackers then pinned him down and, as he tried to flee, chased and stabbed him multiple times with a knife. Orekar was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Following the incident, Pintu Rajput lodged a complaint with Kapil Nagar police, leading to registration of offences including murder and assault against the accused. Police have rounded up Harshal, his brother, and a minor for interrogation, while a manhunt has been launched to nab the remaining accused.
