Man stabbed for intervening in a fight

In a bizarre incident which occurred in Lakhadganj area, a man who tried to intervene and break-up an ongoing quarrel with a shopkeeper and a customer was injured with a knife. The incident which occurred on December 29, 2014 at 10 pm where the victim identified as Abdul Rashid Akbani son of Abdul Aziz Akbani aged 44 years and a resident of the house near Sajjubai’s House, Shatranjipura was seated in the Transport office situated near Maaldhaka Railway Quarters of his friend Irshad Bhai.

The accused identified as Roshan a resident of Telwali Galli, Lakhadganj had come to the neighboring shop of the Transport office. He was allegedly demanding for fire-wood from the neighboring shop, which the shopkeeper was refusing. However, this demand and refusal soon turned into a shouting quarrel. The victim, Abdul Rashid Akbani went to intervene and break-up the fight. This angered the accused and he took out a knife from his possession and thrust it into the area between the left-side of the ribs and stomach. After injuring the victim, he fled the scene.

The victim was rushed to Rahate Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. On the basis of the complaint given by the victim, PI Nehare of Lakhadganj Police Station registered a case against the accused Roshan under section 307 of IPC and is investigating further.
