Man snatches cash from woman in a bank, caught by people in Hingna

Nagpur: In an interesting incident, a 50-year old, who had snatched cash from a woman in a bank, was chased hotly by alert people and caught. However, the accomplice of the accused managed to escape and is now being searched by cops.

The woman named Bilkish Begum Nazim Sheikh (36), resident of Raipur in Hingna, on Friday around 11 am, had gone to the Hingna Branch of Bank of India for depositing cash. While Bilkish Begum was counting cash, the 50-year old accused Aziz Ali alias Juli, resident of Sakil Bibi Colony, Yerkheda, Kamptee and his accomplice Salim Khan, snatched Rs 12,000 from her hand and started running. However, Bilkish Begum raised an alarm and alerted the nearby people. Hearing her shouts, people gave a hot chase to the fleeing accused and succeeded in nabbing Aziz Ali. But another accused Salim Khan managed to dodge the people after him and absconded. The caught Aziz Ali was given a dressing down and later handed over to cops.
Hingna API Niswade, on oral complaint of Bilkish Begum, has booked the accused Aziz Ali under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC and arrested him. Search has also been launched to apprehend the absconding accused Salim Khan.
