Man murdered at Suyog Building, guest house of State Govt, on Dec 31 night

Nagpur: A middle-aged man was murdered at Suyog Building, the State Government guest house where journalists from outside Nagpur given accommodation during Winter Session in Nagpur. The bloody incident took place on December 31 night. The identity of the accused or motive behind the murder has not been established so far.

According to the complainant, Sameer Dilip Wagh (31), resident of Plot No. 37, Prabhatnagar, Narsala, and who works at Suyog Building, was on duty on Sunday, December 31 night. Around 9.30 pm, he heard sound of someone running on the staircase of the building. He rushed to the staircase and found a man, who was later identified as Premlal Mohanlal Desai (50), lying in pool of blood. Some unidentified person(s) had repeatedly stabbed Premlal Desai, resident of Surendragad, Seminary Hills, with sharp-edged weapons. Sameer immediately alerted police and took the injured Premlal to Mayo Hospital. However, doctors declared Premlal dead around 2 am of Monday during the course of treatment.

Sitabuldi police constable Umesh Gupta, on the basis of Sameer Wagh’s complaint, has registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC. Cops have launched investigations to establish identity of the murderer(s) and the motive behind the killing.
