Man killed, other hurt as speeding Bolero hits 2 Activas in Jaripatka

Road AccidentNagpur: A 65-year old man was killed and another injured as a recklessly driven Bolero car went out of control and hit two Activa mopeds in Jaripatka area here on Thursday night. The car driver reportedly fled the spot fearing angry backlash from nearby people.

The complainant, Gajanan Ramaji Shende (39), resident of Kasturba Ward, Bhandara, had come to city around 1945 pm on Thursday and was going towards Kamgar Nagar, Jaripatka on his Activa (MH-49/AD 3222). As Gajanan reached near Kamgar Nagar, the rashly driven Bolero car (MH-49/AD 794) hit his Activa and injured him severely. After hitting Gajanan’s Activa, the unidentified driver of the Bolero lost control over his vehicle and also hit another Activa (MH-40/AF 9602) and seriously injured the rider Narendra Bhutani (65). Narendra died on the spot.

Jaripatka police constable Uike booked the Bolero driver under Sections 304(A), 338, 279, 427 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for the absconding driver.
