A 35 year old man was brutally murdered by slitting his throat with a sharp edged tool while he was sitting at a hair salon Yashordhara Nagar on Sunday evening. The cold blooded murder indicated the striking high rate of crime in the second capital where murders, chain-snatchings, frauds and robberies have become ‘regular’ to read.
The deceased Avinash Ramlal Meshram (35), who was putting up in a rented house at Sunita Raut, Mhada Colony, near scented sticks’ mill, Aajri Maajri, died when he was being taken to hospital for treatment. Yashodhara police performed panchanama and later sent the body for post mortem to Government Medical College and Hospital.
Prima facie, on Sunday Avinash went to a barber’s shop situated at Yashodhara Nagar Square. Suddenly, a youth named Sonu, attacked Avinash from behind and slashed his throat with a sharp-edged weapon. The bloodbath created panic in the area and the killer successfully escaped the scene taking advantage of the panic state of the onlookers. Anju Avinash Meshram was taking him to hospital but he breathed his last on the way.
Yashodhara Nagar police have slapped charges of murder (Section 302 of the IPC) against Sonu and started their investigation to locate the killer.
