A 28-year old man escaped unhurt when he was attacked with a knife by a father-son duo and their 8-10 accomplices in Lakadganj area on Sunday evening. The man managed to evade the blow in the nick of time. The incident has reportedly been the fallout of old rivalry.

According to police, the victim Deepak Ashok Jain (28), resident of Plot No. 190, near Dalvi Hospital, Garoba Maidan, Nagpur, was standing near his house at about 4.30 pm on Sunday. At the same time, the accused father-son duo Suresh Ghanshyam Rana (62) and Yuvraj Suresh Rana (29), both residents of same area and their 8-10 accomplices conspired with each other and attacked Deepak with a knife with an intention to kill him. However, Deepak managed to evade the knife blow in the nick of time. Furious over the ‘missed chance,’ the accused abused Deepak and threatened to eliminate him.

Lakadganj PSI Gosavi, acting on the complaint lodged by Deepak, registered an offence against the accused father-son duo and their accomplices under Sections 307, 452, 294, 506(B), 143, 147, 148, 149 of the IPC and Sub-Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act.
