A man was duped to the tune of Rs 25 lakh in a property deal. A person has been booked in the case.

The victim, father of complainant Afzal Mohd Jahin Khan (28), resident of Plot No. 32, Welcome Society, Katol Road, Nagpur, had negotiated a deal with the accused Ajay Kumar Singh, resident of Intercity Court Yard, House No. 1, Hingna, Nagpur District between 15.9.14 and 7.5.15. Through the negotiated deal, Afzal’s father was to purchase the flat of accused Ajay Kumar Singh at the cost of Rs 30 lakh. Accordingly, a sale agreement was prepared and the accused was paid Rs 25 lakh by the complainant’s father. The remaining Rs 5 lakh were to be paid at the time of Sale Deed Agreement. However, after receiving Rs 25 lakh, the accused Ajay Kumar Singh flatly refused to sale his flat and even threatened the father of complainant to trap him into a false case. Taken aback by the development and realizing that his father has been duped, Afzal filed a complaint with Gittikhadan Police Station in this connection.

PSI Madankar has registered an offence against the accused Ajay Kumar Singh under Section 406 of IPC and probing the matter further.
