Man crushed to death as Star Bus rams parked truck near Modern School

Nagpur: An utterly reckless driver of a Star Bus rammed his vehicle into a parked truck in the dead of night of Thursday when roads are deserted of heavy traffic and caused death of a man and injuries to another. In another accident, a middle aged man was killed when his motorcycle was hit a speeding truck.

In the outrageous incident, an unidentified driver of a Star Bus (MH-31/CA 6151), coming from Koradi direction, was driving his vehicle rashly and in great speed. When the Star Bus reached in front of a petrol pump near Modern School Square, it crashed into a truck (MH-40/7205) that was parked for repairs. As a result of forceful impact, the parked truck was pushed forward and crushed a mechanic who was working under it. The mechanic, Mohd Anees Ansari (24), resident of Garib Nawaz Nagar, Pili Nadi, Nagpur, died on the spot. The terrible collision also left owner of the truck, Sanjay Manishankar Abhyankar alias Sanju Anna (45) of Khaparkheda, seriously injured. Sanju Anna was rushed to Aditya Hospital in Ramdaspeth.

The shocking part of the fatal accident is that it occurred at 0005 hours when the traffic on the road is very thin. Moreover, the truck had developed a snag and was parked by roadside for repairs. The driver of the Star Bus could have easily passed the spot through the deserted road.

Koradi API M S Kawade, based on a complaint, has booked the unidentified driver of the killer Star Bus under Sections 304(A), 338 of IPC read with Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act.

In another incident, a 45-year old motorcyclist, Surendrasingh Jogendrasingh Babra, resident of Nagbhumi Society, Nagbhumi, was critically injured when his Hero Honda motorcycle (MH-49/R 7622) was hit by a truck (MH-43/E 2938) near Mankapur Square. Surendrasingh was rushed to Mayo Hospital but doctors there pronounced him brought dead.

Mankapur API Patil, acting on a complaint, registered a case against the driver of the truck under Sections 279, 338, 304(A) of IPC read with Sub-Sections 184, 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act. Further probe is underway.
