According to police, the victim Sachin Chandrakant Bhasme (39), a resident of Sadbhavna Nagar, Plot No. 36, had gone to Hanuman Mandir, Jaigurudev Nagar on Tuesday and was sitting there. At the same time, the accused Badal Waghmare (32), a resident of Jaigurudev Nagar and his three accomplices approached Sachin and started heckling him for indulging in abusive language and spreading canards against Badal in the locality and instigating residents. Even before Sachin could gauge the situation, the accused started attacking him with wooden sticks. In the attack, Sachin suffered serious injuries. However, the accused did not stop here and with a motive to kill him, they threw Sachin into a well in the area and later fled the spot. Nearby residents, after hearing Sachin’s cry for help, gathered at the well and took him out.
