Man attacked murderously over inter-caste marriage in MIDC, one arrested

Nagpur: A brawl over inter-caste marriage led to murderous assault on a man in MIDC area here on Monday. The accused attacker has been arrested. The seriously injured man has been battling for life in a private hospital.

The arrested accused has been identified as Chandu Ishwar Madavi (24). The fact that his cousin sister had married to Shubham Bandu Masurkar, resident of Ambazari Hill, Ajay Nagar, who belonged to other caste, did not go well down with Chandu. From that day, the accused was planning to settle a bloody score with Shubham. On Monday around 5.30 pm, the accused Chandu Madavi and his accomplice named Deepak Telgama, both residents of Ekatmata Nagar, accosted Shubham near Sai Lawn, Jaitala, and attacked him with wooden sticks and knife with the intention to kill him. Shubham received deep stab injuries on his neck and abdomen. The profusely bleeding Shubham was taken to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital where he is reportedly battling for life.

MIDC API Gaekwad, based on a complaint lodged by Shubham’s friend Nitin Mukesh Kalosiya (26), booked the accused under Sections 307, 34 of the IPC and succeeded in arresting Chandu Madavi. The other accused Deepak Telgama is being searched.
