Nagpur: A 36-year-old pervert man was arrested by Rana Pratap Nagar police for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl.
The accused has been identified as Raju Devchand Waghare, a resident of Rana Pratap Nagar. According to police, the accused was a neighbour of the victim. He lured the girl with a mobile phone and took her to his room where he sexually assaulted the child. A neighbour noticed something amiss and objected to the man after which the latter left the spot. The 29-year-old mother of the victim learnt about the incident. She lodged a complaint with the police.
An offence under Sections 354 (A)(2) of Indian Penal Code read with Section 8, 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered by Rana Pratap Nagar police and arrested the accused.
Man booked for raping woman
A 22-year old man was booked by Gittikhadan police for raping a woman on the false promise of marriage. The accused was identified as Rajdeep Singh Satnam Singh Sohal, a resident of Plot No 111, Bansi Nagar, Hingna Naka.
According to police, Sahal sexually exploited the woman on the false promise of marriage. When she asked him for marriage, the accused refused. He also threatened to defame her by making her private pictures viral among her relatives.
An offence under Sections 376 (2) (N), 504, 506, 323 and 417 of Indian Penal Code has been registered and further probe is underway.
