Nagpur: A 31-year old man was arrested on charges of raping a girl and also threatening to kill her if opened her mouth. The accused has been identified as Yogendra Gajanan Nikhare. The Wadi-based girl (31) was apparently known to the accused Yogendra. In March, 2011, Yogendra offered ‘angara’ (pious ash) to the girl. After eating the ‘angara,’ the girl fell unconscious.
Taking advantage of the situation, the accused Yogendra raped her. He also threatened to girl of dire consequences if she narrated the incident to anyone. With this threat, Yogendra frequently exploited the girl physically for over four years. However, fed up with the exploitation and threats, the victimized girl registered a case against the accused with Wadi police.
Acting on the plaint, the Lady PSI Kutemate booked the accused Yogendra Nikhare under Sections 376(F)(N), 506 of IPC and placed him under arrest.
