Nagpur: Kalamna police have arrested a young man for raping and blackmailing his teenage ‘girlfriend.’ The accused exploited the minor girl sexually for over one and half year and also threatened to upload her obscene photos on Facebook.
The arrested accused has been identified as Manoj Nilvant Asvale (24), resident of Vandevi Nagar, Kalamna. According to police, the accused Manoj stalked the 16-year old girl since March 2018 and later befriended her. With his glib talking, the accused trapped the teenage girl and exploited her sexually frequently. Manoj also blackmailed the minor rape survivor by threatening to upload her obscene photos on Facebook. Not to be cowed down by the threats, the victim girl registered a case against the accused with Kalamna police in this regard.
API Kurale, acting on the complaint of the girl, booked the accused Manoj Asvale under Sections 376, 376(2)(I)(J)(N), 354(D), 366, 504, 506, 323 of the IPC read with Section 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and placed him under arrest. Further probe is underway.
