Nagpur: Gittikhadan police have arrested a man for exploiting a 21-year old girl sexually with false marriage promise and later refusing to marry with her. The accused abused the girl over a period of eight months.
A resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Ramabai Square, Wadi, the accused has been identified as Mithun Kailas Uike (31). On June 16, 2018, the accused Mithun went to the 21-year old girl’s house in Gittikhadan when she was alone and asked for water. As she was giving water to Mithun, he embraced her tightly. When she protested, the accused threatened to thrash her and later raped her. Thereafter, the accused Mithun exploited the girl sexually frequently till February 13, 2019 by doling out false marriage promise. But when the girl insisted Mithun to marry her, he flatly refused to do so.
Gittikhadan PSI D S Patle, acting on a complaint lodged by the rape survivor, booked the accused Mithun Uike under Sections 376(2)(N), 506 of the IPC and put him behind the bars. Further probe is underway.
