Nagpur: Ganeshpeth police arrested a young man on the charges of attempting to murder an unidentified youth in Cotton Market on Sunday evening. The accused smashed the youth’s head with a heavy stone over unspecified motive.
The arrested accused has been identified as Harshal Pradeep Chaudhary (25) who is used to stay on a footpath near Cotton Market. Previously, the accused was residing near Sharda Company, Lane No. 4.
On Sunday, around 5 pm, the accused Harshal Chaudhary attacked an unidentified youth aged between 20-25 years with a heavy stone and smashed his head with the intention of killing him. The incident took place near Radha Photo Studio, beside Hanuman Temple, Cotton Market. However, the motive behind the murderous attack could not be ascertained immediately. The severely injured youth was taken to Mayo Hospital and is being treated there.

Ganeshpeth API S P Mane, acting on a complaint lodged by Govind Hanumanprasad Tiwari (50), registered a case under Section 307 of the IPC against the accused Harshal Chaudhary and arrested him. Cops are trying to know the exact reason behind the attack.
