
Nagpur:On Tuesday night, a series of fire incidents at six different locations across Nagpur created panic in the city. The most serious blaze occurred near Aath Rasta Chowk at the Reliance Smart Store, where flames engulfed the entire store around 9 PM.
Fire officials said the inferno spread rapidly, consuming goods worth lakhs of rupees. Firefighters battled the blaze for nearly three hours before bringing it under control. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, though extensive property damage occurred as all merchandise inside was reduced to ashes.
In other parts of the city, smaller fires were reported involving garbage heaps and trees. The fire brigade responded promptly and managed to extinguish the flames in time, preventing any major mishaps.
Meanwhile, in Baramati, a massive fire broke out at a scrap godown along Phaltan Road around midnight. The flames quickly spread throughout the premises, releasing thick smoke in the area. Firefighters worked tirelessly for several hours to control the blaze. No injuries were reported, but large quantities of scrap material were destroyed. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Similarly, in Nalasopara East, a devastating fire erupted behind the Sai Bazaar building late at night. The flames began in one warehouse and soon spread to three adjoining godowns. In total, four warehouses were completely gutted. The Vasai-Virar Fire Department dispatched three fire tenders to the scene and managed to douse the fire after prolonged efforts. While no lives were lost, property damage was significant. Authorities are probing the cause of the incident.
