Mumbai/Nagpur: The Governor of Maharashtra Ch Vidyasagar Rao has greeted the people of Maharashtra on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.

In his message, the Governor has said “Bhagwan Mahavira renounced a comfortable life in search of finding a solution to the sorrow, pain and misery suffered by the people.  His teachings of Non-violence (Ahimsa), Truthfulness (Satya) and compassion have cast deepest influence on the thinking of the people of India. The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi made the concept of Satya and Ahimsa as the basis of the struggle for Independence from the foreign rule.  May the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavira continue to guide us on the path of peace, harmony and compassion. I extend my heartiest greetings to the people of Maharashtra on the joyous occasion of Mahavira Jayanti.”
