Nagpur: Maharashtra State Sub Junior girls basketball team secured Bronze medal in 42nd Sub Junior National Basketball held at Puduchhery. Maharashtra girls beat Madhya Pradesh (MP) (63-36) in the hardliner today. Earlier Maharashtra lost to Chattisgarh in Semifinals in a close fight (66-61). Girls beat Karnataka in the quarter finals 77-62. Shruti Bhosle from Satara, Siya Deoshar, Abha Lad and Purvi Mahalle from Nagpur contributed to the success of Maharashtra team. Along with Siya, Abha, Purvi, Devashree Ambegaonkar and Mallika Thakare from Nagpur are in the Bronze Medal winning Maharashtra team. Nagpur District Girls team won the state championship held at Mumbai last month after which these five girls selected for Maharashtra team.
