Nagpur/Mumbai: The helicopter trauma continues to haunt Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. On Thursday too, his helicopter had to abort landing at Bhayandar, a suburb of Mumbai, as the pilot spotted cables in the way. The pilot immediately took off the helicopter and possibly averted a major mishap.

Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday performed bhumipujan of Varsova bridge of National Highway situated at Ghodbandar in Bhayandar. Fadnavis and Gadkari, after finishing a programme in Mumbai, were to land in helicopter at Bhayandar’s Seven Eleven School around 1 pm. A cable wire was dangling from the school building to another building. While landing, the helicopter pilot suddenly spotted the cable and immediately took off the copter. Had the helicopter continued the landing, it would have entangled in the cable and a disaster would have been a certainty.

A Ground Engineer has been suspended in this connection. After the programme, Fadnavis and Gadkari preferred to travel to Mumbai by car.
