Love triangle leads to stabbing of a man in Hudkeshwar

Nagpur: A hooligan from Hudkeshwar area attempted to kill a 30-year-old man for allegedly troubling his paramour on Tuesday night. Cops arrested accused Snehal Ranjan Ghodeswar (38), who is a resident of Plot No 44, New Shankar Nagar, Dighori, immediately after the incident.

The victim, Sachin Babudas Mahant, a resident of Building No 53, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Tirodi, Wathoda, was rushed to Government Medical College & Hospital. A native of Khangaon, Saoner, Mahant had an affair with a woman for the past one-and-a-half years. She then fell in love with Ghodeswar and started avoiding Mahant. When Mahant came to know about it, he asked her to return the cell phone gifted by him. She told him to meet at Dighori Square and take the mobile phone.

Around 10.30 pm, Mahant went there and saw Ghodeswar with her. An argument broke out between Mahant and the woman. Miffed after seeing Mahant allegedly troubling his paramour, Ghodeswar took out a knife and stabbed him. With serious abdominal injuries, Mahant was admitted to the hospital.

Hudkeshwar Police recorded the statement of the victim and took Ghodeswar into custody after registering a case under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are on.
