Nagpur: The loan waiver issue crippled the Legislative Council on the third day as well. Members of ruling BJP and Shiv Sena marched towards Well of the House and raised slogans against the Opposition members for stalling the proceedings frequently.

The Question Hour was totally marred by the pandemonium created Opposition members who demanded a discussion on farm loan waiver. The protest and counter protest led to adjournment of the House thrice. When the House assembled at 1 pm, the NCP leader Sunul Tatkare again pressed for discussion under Rule 282. Deputy Chairman Manikrao Thakre allowed Tatkare to present his point of view. However, the ruling party members strongly protested Thakre’s move. The Ruling Party Leader and Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil registered his objection. His point of view was that while a proposal for discussion has already been tabled in the House there is no reason to raise the issue every now and then.

The Opposition members however rejected Patil’s objection and said that when the Chair has given permission to a member to speak, it is improper to create uproar in the House. Later, both the ruling as well as Opposition members trooped in the Well of the House and raised slogans against each other. Amid the noisy scenes, the House was again adjourned till 1.15 pm.
