Lip-smacking Mediterranean delicacies to feature in the Tandoori Nights food festival

Nagpur: Finally the much awaited food-festival Tandoori Nights is slated to be organized once again from December 6, 2016. Central India’s first Hotel Management College successfully running for more than two decades of academic excellence, is once again organizing the Tandoori Nights Food Festival. This is the seventh year of their organizing this event. This year the theme is Mediterranean and the students have decided to feature delicacies of two countries viz. Italian and Spanish. The event is said to be organized on December 6, 2016 to December 11, 2016 from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Tirpude College Campus, Civil Lines, Sadar.

Since 1997 Shri Balasaheb Tirpude College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is regularly organizing different events that includes Theme Dinner, Theme Restaurant, Food Weeks and Food Festivals. All activities of the event are organized and managed by the students under the guidance of the faculty and core team. Likewise this year the students of the college had worked hard on different special preparations from Turkey, Lebanon, Thai, Chinese and Indian Cuisines, with an affirmative note they are organizing the food festival Tandoori Nights- 2016. No wonder in coming times the “Tandoori Nights” is the iconic event of Orange City associated with our institute as a brand gala event. The prime attraction centre of the event is the live Tandoor Section, which is most desired by all the visitors. This time the level is taken to the higher side that will definitely increase the curiosity of the people and at the same time it will increase the showmanship of the students. This year the students are preparing fifty-eight variant preparations along with different accompaniments for the food enthusiast of Orange City in this food festival. The specialties include delicacies like the Mediterranean Cuisine consisting of Italian and Spanish delicacies like Pinchos Morunos, Pasta, and Paella Alla Valenciana. There are four-sections in the menu which are as International Delicacies, Special Indian Kitchen, Chinese Section and Dessert. Some of the finest preparations are being cooked and served live in front of the guest.

The core team of students behind all the work is putting their managerial skill to an acid test by this event. The core management activity of planning to executions is done under the guidance of the faculty of the institute as well as the juniors in the college are assigned different work so as to give them a prima fascia of the modus operandi of the event management, thereby making them geared up to organize such event every year. The participative working is now the tradition of the institute. While speaking to media personnel, the students claimed that all this work is not possible unless there is leadership and guidance of the senior staff of the college behind the work. The students of final year who are in the organizing team including Media Co-coordinator Manish Mule, Executive Chef Sunil Pathe, F&B Head Harminder Singh, Housekeeping Head Banay Saraiya, Security Head Anuj Dixit and Prathmesh Mudali addressed the media personnel. About Shri Balasaheb Tirpude College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology:
The institution is in its Platinum Year of its establishment. Shri Balasaheb Tirpude College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology were established in the year 1994 under the Yugantar Education Society that was founded in the year 1932. The college offers four distinct courses for the students which includes Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), B.Sc in Hospitality Services (B.Sc.HS) and Diploma in Hospitality Studies (DHS) and the only course of graduation in tourism i.e. Bachelor of Arts in Travel & Tourism (BA-T&T). The college has an active participation in all major events organized in the town and state.  The infrastructure of the institution provides a value added input to the students with a bakery, an advance training kitchen, basic kitchen, a quantity kitchen, a training restaurant with bar setup a housekeeping lab along with a laundry and a front-office lab, computer lab operational at the same time. The President of Yugantar Education Society (YES) Rajkumar Tirpude gives all the able guidance. Working President Vanita R. Tirpude and the General Secretary of YES Wamanrao Kombade, are always there to instruct the tactful and strategic guidance.
