Nagpur: Residents of North and East Nagpur will receive restricted and low pressure water supply as the Kanhan river water flow has been receding and is presently at critical level.
There is insufficient water in the Kanhan river to be lifted from intake wells for treatment in the Kanhan water works. Due to this the clear water pumping from the Kanhan WTP is getting adversely affected.
On May 22, twice the pumping had to be stopped and there could be interruptions in pumping tomorrow, May 23 also.
The river flow will improve only when the additional water, which has already been demanded from minor irrigation department, is released into the Kanhan river.
