A lecturer of Department of Mass Communication of Dhanwate National College has been booked for allegedly luring a girl student of his institution into marriage and sexually exploiting her.

On Wednesday, Sitabuldi police registered an FIR against the accused lecturer Satish Dandare, a resident of Plot No. 102, Khare Town. The 27-year-old victim, in her statement, said that Satish promised to marry her and made physical relationship with her from March 2013. But, soon he turned cold towards her and started avoiding her.

The victim was doing MA in Mass Communication during March and alleged that Satish, who teaches Public Relations in the college, offered to provide extra guidance to her for the subject. He then started making fake promises of marriage and thus, exploited her sexually.

The victim met a senior official for help and then lodged a complaint against Satish. On the complaint of the 27-year-old girl, Sitabuldi Police registered an offence under Section 376 and 417 of the IPC. Further investigations are under way.
