Nagpur: In response to call made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for starting ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ the volunteers of ‘Rani Laxmibai Durga Utsav Mandal’ at Laxmi Nagar, took an initiative to clean the volleyball ground in near Aath Rasta Sqaure, which was in pathetic conditions.

The youngsters, including girls and women, were joined by former international cricketer and resident of Laxmi Nagar Prashant Vaidya who guided them. Even the local residents joined the Mandal activists in large numbers in making the ground clean.

The ground was in shabby condition with garbage strewn everywhere as builders making buildings in adjoining areas had dumped the material and waste. Even nearby residences had made a habit of throwing their household garbage on the playground and thus turning it into a dumping yard. . Despite being a playground, it was crowded by cows and buffaloes from nearby areas and stray dogs.
