Late night drama: Goon demands man’s car at gun-point, threatens to kill him in Jaripatka

Nagpur: In a late night drama enacted in Jaripatka, a criminal threatened to kill a man with a country-made pistol and demanded his four-wheeler at gun point as extortion. The goon has been arrested.

According to the complainant, Arvind Madhavrao Mohadikar (31), resident of Plot No. 5, Kushi Nagar, he was sleeping at his house on Sunday night. Around 0130 hours, the accused Gopal Gyaniprasad Verma (31), resident of Plot No. 670, Kushi Nagar, arrived in front of Arvind’s house and created a scene by shouting in pitched voice. As Arvind came out of his house and tried to prevail upon the accused, he resorted to hurling filthy abuses and demanded his four wheeler as extortion. The accused threatened to kill Arvind with a country-made pistol if his demand was not met by him. Scared of the life threat, Arvind immediately dialled 100 and informed the cops about the ruckus the accused is creating.

A team of Jaripatka policemen reached the spot and detained the accused. Upon frisking, cops found the accused in possession of a country-made pistol and one live cartridge.

API G P Ingle booked the accused Gopal Verma under Sections 294, 506(B), 384 of the IPC read with Sub-Section 3+25 of Arms Act and placed him under arrest.
