Nagpur:
On August 1, 2015, the Maharashtra State Government had relieved the responsibility of paying Local Body Tax for all those traders, institutions and business firms whose annual business is below Rs 50 crores. However, it was made mandatory to deposit the Annual Returns of LBT for the assessment year 2015-16 by June 29, 2016.

Many traders, business establishments and Chartered Accountants had requested NVCC to plead for them because they did not file the returns of LBT assuming that they do not fall under that category. Hence, they had requested the extension of dates for filing the LBT returns.

The office-bearers of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce had spoken to the Mayor, NMC Commissioner and Additional Commissioner (LBT) and requested them to consider the situation mentioned above and extend the dates for filing the LBT Returns till August 31, 2016.

On the request of the Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce, Mayor, NMC Commissioner and Additional Commissioner (LBT) have decided to extend the date of filing the returns of LBT for assessment year 2015-16 till August 31, 2016.

Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce has requested all traders, Institutions and business establishments to file the LBT returns in the allocated time.

NVCC authorities have expressed their gratitude to Mayor Praveen Datke, NMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar and Additional Commissioner (LBT) Milind Meshram for their kind consideration.
