Lady doctor robbed by two goons in Panchpaoli area

Nagpur: Responding to a call on her mobile phone midway while riding a two-wheeler proved costly for a lady doctor as she was relieved of cash and other valuables by two muggers in Panchpaoli area on Sunday evening.

The victim has been identified as Dr Sanjivani Kishore Ramteke (45), resident of Plot No. 25, Misal Layout. In her complaint Dr Ramteke told police that she was returning home on her Activa (MH-49/Y 2258) around 6.50 pm on Sunday. Midway she received a call on her mobile phone from a friend.

Responding to the call, Dr Ramteke stopped her vehicle near Gurunanak Apartment No. 1, Gurunanakpura, Ashok Nagar and started talking to her friend. However, while talking she committed a mistake of keeping her purse on the seat of the Activa. Taking advantage of engrossed lady doctor, two unidentified miscreants, in the age group of 25-28 years, slyly lifted the purse containing cash of Rs 10,000 and other valuables and vanished from the scene.

Panchpaoli PSI Gangakachur, based on her complaint, has booked the two accused under Sections 392, 34 of IPC and searching for them.
