Students from Laxminarayan Institute of Technology participated in “5th National Conference on Future Prospects in Food Processing and Quality Assurance” organized by Department of Food Process Engineering, School of Bioengineering ,SRM University, Chennai in association with Association of Food Scientists and Technologists India (AFSTI), Chennai Chapter on 20th and 21st  of March 2014.

The students of final year Food Technology, Neha A. Saraf and Pradnya Shiral under the guidance of Prof. S V Karadbhajne, presented paper in oral presentation category on the topic “High protein confectionaries from Ragi Satva and formulated protein flour” at the conference which was judged by S. Chander, Food Consultant, Chennai and Dr. Illias Ali, Research Engineering Printpack packing supplies Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore. Presented paper and secured first position which included certificates, medals and cash prize.

Also students namely Makrand Belsare, Bishnukant Tiwari under the guidance of Prof S V Karadbhajne and Pooja Mogarkar under the guidance of S B Gawande presented posters at the conference.

The participation was supported by Director-in-charge Prof. T B Chahande and Head of Department Dr. D K Kawadkar. LIT management encourages students for such activities to benefit them in addition to academic pursuit.
