Krishna Janmashtami Celebrated at Sangam Chawl

IMG-20140819-WA0025Nagpur News: The citizens of Sangam Chawl organized the Krishna Janmashtami Jhanki (tableau) on August 19, 2014. The festival was inaugurated by Social Activist Sumukh Mishra. The Guests of Honour included Corporators Munna Pokulwar, Parinay Fuke, Lata Yadav, Dr Jai Changani.

Krishna Janmashtami is an annual celebration of the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. The festival is celebrated on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhadrapad (August–September) as per the Hindu calendar.

IMG-20140819-WA0026The main organizer was Dhamma, Vijay Kuryawansi and Sangam Chawl Association strived to make the event a grand success.

The entire atmosphere reverberated with religious fervor and zeal. Social Activist Sumukh Mishra and all the Corporators took active part in the religious rites and performed the puja (obeisance) to Lord Krishna. For once they forgot all differences and enjoyed themselves as did the citizens of Sangam Chawl.
