Kidnapped minor girl rescued from Rajasthan, accused arrested

acb-nagpurNagpur: Sitabuldi police, in a well-planned operation, rescued a minor girl who was kidnapped and taken to Rajasthan and also arrested the abductor.

According to details, the 60-year old father of the girl (name withheld owing to girl being minor) had lodged complaint with Sitabuldi Police Station stating that his daughter had gone missing from in front of a shop named Bombay Collection situated on Sitabuldi Main Raod on March 1, 2016. Subsequently, an offence was registered and the investigation was handed over to Lady PSI Priti Shende.

After the painstaking probe, the Lady PSI Priti Shende and her team came to know that the accused named Raju Rashid Ahmed Rahim (28), resident of Plot No. 36, Bande Nawaz Nagar, near Badi Masjid of Yashodhara Nagar police jurisdiction, had trapped the girl and taken her to Ajmer in Rajasthan. Armed with the information, the Lady PSI Shende, along with constables Kishore and Sanjay, dashed to Ajmer and with the help of local police rescued the minor girl. The girl was brought to Nagpur safely. The accused Raju Rashid Ahmed Rahim was arrested under Sections 366(A), 376 of IPC read with Sections 4, 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and his 4-day PCR was secured.
