Kapil Sharma Set to Marry Girlfriend Ginni Charath in December

This year can definitely be called the year of celebrity weddings, as many big and small stars have been tying the knot or are going to tie the knot with their loved ones before 2018 ends. A good number of weddings have already taken place, like Sonam Kapoor’s marriage to Anand Ahuja, Neha Dhupia’s marriage to Angad Bedi, and Bharti Singh’s marriage to Harsh Limbachiyaa. Now another celeb is set to take the plunge, and it is none other than comedian Kapil Sharma.

Kapil revealed that he will be getting married to his girlfriend Ginni Charath on December 12 in Jalandhar. The Kapil Sharma Show host also spoke about how the wedding was being planned.

“The wedding is on December 12 in Jalandhar. That’s Ginni’s hometown. We wanted to keep it low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish,” he said.

Kapil also spoke about how his elder brother’s wedding was conducted, and how it was a small affair compared to the one that was held for his sister.

“During the time when my brother married, I had not started earning well. We just went as a small baraat (wedding procession) and got bhabhi (sister-in-law) home. But by the time my sister got married, I had begun to earn well. So we had a fairly large wedding. It was lavish by our standards,” he said.

Kapil, whose life and career has been under a cloud for some time now, said he wanted to keep the wedding under wraps.

“For the past few weeks, I’ve been promoting my Punjabi film. I didn’t want to talk about the wedding during the promotions, although the media repeatedly kept asking,” he said.

When asked if he was happy with the decision, he said, “Of course I am. But more than me, the happiness that I see on my mother’s face is what makes it special.”

The wedding will take place on December 12 and it will be followed by a reception on December 14.

Here’s wishing Kapil and Ginni a happy wedded life.
