Nagpur: Kamptee Panchayat Samiti has won second prize in Yashwant Panchayat Raj Abhiyan, for the year 2015-16, in Nagpur Division. The prizes under Yashwant Panchayat Raj Abhiyan will be distributed in a ceremony to be held in Mumbai on April 13. The prize won by Kamptee PS comprises Rs 6 lakh cash, memento, and certificate.
The Block Development Officer (BDO) Sachin Suryawanshi credited the Kamptee PS achievement to Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, ZillaParishad Chief Executive Officer Kadambari Bhagat-Balkawde, Additional Chief Executive Officer Ankush Kedar, Chairperson of Kamptee PS Anita Chikte, Deputy Chairman Devendra Gawte, Bela Sontakke, Arvind Anturkar, Manohar Misal, Shashikant Dakhole, Pravin Nagargoje,Narendra Raghorte and others also extended their co-operation, Suryawanshi added.
Kamptee Tehsil bagged the second prize for open defecation free status. Besides, it topped others in the district in meeting the targets for implementation of various Government schemes. In the year 2013-14 also, Kamptee Panchayat Samiti had won the third prize in division under the Yashwant Panchayat Raj Abhiyan. Now, it has bagged nomination in divison level under Panchayat Raj Sashaktikaran Yojana of Central Government for its performance.
