Nagpur: Shreeja Wankhede, Sanvi Manapure, Sharayu Rewaskar and Mugdha Sawarkar made it to the semi-finals of the YonexSunrise Late Amol Kale Memorial Yash Open Nagpur District Badminton Tournament under way at Subhedar Hall, Ravi Nagar in Nagpur.
In the quarter-finals, top seed Shreeja defeated Avani Praveen Singh 21-5, 21-12 in straight games. Sanvi thrashed Advaiya Pankaj Sathe 22-20, 22-20 while Sharayu fought out hard to beat Riddhi Pramod Tidke 21-17, 12- 21, 21-16. In the last quarter-final, Mugdha defeated Angha Hemant Behere 21-10, 21-13 to complete the semis line-up.
In men’s, Arnav Palshikar and Sairaj Nayse defeated Avik Lodha and Lakshya Maheshwari 15-3, 15-2 to make it to the last eight of the competition.
