Nagpur News: The Wadi police have recovered scrap material worth Rs 23,000,00 in Nagpur. According to police, one Ajay Athawale, (44), a resident of Rama Nagar, Shatabdi Square, Ajni has lodged a complaint with Wadi Police Station. The complaint said that Chhanna Gedam of Chhanna Associate, and some accomplices of him prepared fake documents and lifted auctioned scrap material from stores of Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Co. Chhanna Gedam lifted 81040 kilogrammes of scarp material from the stores of the Power Company and loaded the material in five trucks. The scrap material of 81040 kilogrammes was well above the quantity of the auctioned lot. Chhanna prepared forged documents for the scrap material and indulged in stealing the material well and above the auctioned lot. However, a word spread that the Wadi police received Rs 3,00,000 and let Chhanna and his accomplices go scot free.

However, the Additional Commissioner of Police Sanjay Saxena got a hint of this “Scrap deal” and directed the Kalamna Police to act immediately as the trucks had crossed in the jurisdiction of Kalamna Police Station. However, Chhanna prepared fake documents and lifted an additional 81040 kilogrammes of scrap apart from the auctioned lot from the stores of MAHATRANSCO. However, a word spread that the DB Squad of Wadi Police Station stopped the trucks midway and received “scrap bribe” of Rs 3,00,000 and had let the trucks have a go. But the Kalamna police, acting on the directive of their top boss, seized the trucks. However, four drivers and three cleaners succeeded in escaping the police dragnet. One truck successfully passed the Nagpur limits.
