Kalamna police book 24 truckers for stealing sand from mines, seize 12 trucks worth lakhs

Nagpur News: Kalamna police have booked 24 truck drivers and owners on the charges of illegally transporting sand without paying Government royalty and seized tonnes of sand and 12 trucks collectively worth lakhs of rupees. The action was taken with the collaboration of Revenue Department officials.

According to details, the Kalamna cops in a joint operation carried out at Pardi Naka (Post) on Bhandara Road, Nagpur in the wee hours of Saturday (November 22) stopped the eight trucks – MH-40/N 1835, MH-31/ DS 863, MH-36/G 1800, AP/7411, MH-40/AP 3438, MH-34/M 3625, MH-36/F 4800, MH-31/CQ 1651, MH-36/F 2669, MH-36/G 2122, MH-36/F 2122, and MH-36/ 1444. The cops found drivers and owners of the 12 trucks transporting tonnes of sand without paying the Government royalty. Subsequently, the police seized the massive quantity of sand and the 12 trucks collectively worth lakhs of rupees.

The Revenue Department officials — In-Charge Divisional Officer Suresh Mahadeo Borikar, Nayab Tehsildar Ravindra Raghunath Dhope and Talathi Subhash Narayan Shinde – lodged a complaint with Kalamna Police Station in this connection.

Kalamna PSI Raut, acting the complaint, booked the 24 truck drivers and owners under Sections 379, 34 of the IPC and seized the sand in huge quantity and the 12 trucks.
